The islands and therefore the beaches of the Caribbean are among the most popular tourist destinations in the world. This is due in part to the year-round sunshine, warmth and wide variety of scenic places to visit.
1. The beach above is Aruba's Baby Beach, a shallow man-made lagoon on the southeast tip of the island..
The water here is very calm and perfect for snorkeling or with small children. In the photo, a shelter covered by palm trees with stone supports.
Whether you go to the beach regularly or are more into shopping, a Caribbean vacation is not complete without visiting the beautiful blue waters or the crystal clear white sand beaches. In addition to the gleaming white sand and crystal-clear waters, note the subtle differences at each beach, from the size of the beach to the eroded rocks that line the shoreline.

2. Bathsheba Beach, Barbados
Bathsheba Beach is known for the local and international surfing competitions that take place in its waters. One of the most famous features on display here is the large, moss-covered rock found near the shore, known by some as the "Rock of Bathsheba". The narrow bank just beyond this lush expanse of grass offers a vibrant and colorful sight.
3. Cabbage Beach, Isla Paraiso, Bahamas.
A beautiful white sand beach flanked by summer houses and coconut trees. The narrow beach is topped by a green hill. The soft sand warms up in the sun and invites you to rest.
4. Playa Crane, Barbados
A white sand beach named after the resort hotel of the same name. The wide beach accommodates numerous bathers, and behind the frame a large overhang extends into the sea. The palm trees on the sloping hill behind the beach bend towards the sun and sway in the wind.
5. Playa Eagle, Aruba
The shores of Eagle Beach are dotted with low rise resorts and a wide public beach. The combination of soft white sand and gentle waves make this beach one of the top rated beaches in the world. A beautiful sunrise is shown here before other sunbathers arrive. A trail of footprints that have not yet been erased borders the coast.
6. Flamenco Beach, Puerto Rico
A white sand beach that slopes quickly into deeper waters for swimming. This beach is popular for swimming, sport fishing and diving. The beach stretches for about a kilometer around the horseshoe-shaped bay and is considered the best beach in Puerto Rico. Shown here is a stunning vintage military vehicle painted by generations of sunbathers.
7. Galley Bay, Antígua
A beautiful tourist beach with shallow water and a narrow beach. Far from the coast, you can hardly see a sailboat, which gives an idea of the size of the bathing area on this beach. Taken from one of the lush hills on either side of Bay Beach, this photo shows Galley Bay Beach in its entirety.
8. Grace Bay, Providenciales, Turks e Caicos
A 5-mile beach with wooden huts and palm trees. The entrance to the beach is a wooden walkway. This beach is popular for snorkeling due to the miles of coral reefs just offshore. Shelters along the beach are covered with wood, while many other beach shelters are covered with dried palm leaves.
9. Playa Grand Anse, Granada
This beach is the biggest tourist center in Grenada and frequently appears in the top 10 of the world countdown. This image shows weathered boulders piled up along parts of the beach. The spaces between the rocks are full of tropical flora. The sharply jagged boulders look almost unreal in the light.
10. Playa Harrissmith, Barbados
A beach on the southeast coast that is a short walk from Bottom Bay. The beach is narrow but has a shallow lagoon which is ideal for peaceful relaxation as this beach is not as crowded as Bottom Bay. Above the beach are the ruins of an old farmhouse, which visitors can safely see from the outside.
11. Horseshoe Bay Beach, Bermuda
Beach on the south Atlantic side of the island with fine white sand. This stretch of beach features large rocks that have been eroded by water. Even on a rare cloudy day, the water is clear and calm. These rocks look much more jagged than other rocks on nearby beaches. The name of the beach refers to the shape of the shore.
12. Long Bay, Tortola, British Virgin Islands
A secluded and private 800m stretch of beach, accessible only by a long winding dirt road. The water depth varies along the coast as you can see in the photo above. This aerial view of the beach also shows off the forested mountains and lush vegetation.
13. Magens Bay, St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands
On the North Atlantic side, this well-protected white sand beach stretches for about a quarter of a mile. Due to the narrow entrance to the sea, the waves are usually calm and gentle, which makes this place an ideal place for young children.
14. Praia Nisbet, Nevis
A view over the white coral and sandy beach to a heavily forested coastline beyond. Nisbet Beach is part of a resort nestled amongst coconut trees and is situated on the reef-protected north coast of the island.
15. Playa de Orient Bay, Sint Maarten
A sunrise view of gentle waves rolling onto the white sand shore. This beach is on the French side of the island, on the east coast. The beach has quickly become the most popular beach on Sint Maarten.
16. Palm Beach, Aruba
A popular tourist beach with luxury hotels and a large shopping area nearby. Shown here is the white sand beach decorated for a beach wedding. Umbrellas and beach huts are covered with palm trees.
17. Palomino Island, Puerto Rico
The wooded island of Palomino, off the coast of Puerto Rico, has two great beaches. One is privately owned and reserved for owners, while the other is rented out to a tourist hotel. The beautiful blue waters are a popular destination for all types of water activities.
18. Playa Great Bay, Philipsburg, Sint Maarten
The Great Bay Beach of Sint Maarten is a tourist beach near the capital Sint Maarten. The shallow water extends to the shore and is delightfully warm and relaxing. This beach overhead view shows the curve and buildings along the shoreline.
19. Pink Beach, Barbuda
Barbuda's beautiful and unique beaches are known for the pink sand along the coast. The island is not a popular tourist destination and much of the island is still small towns. The amount of pink sand varies from place to place, with some places having very little of it, as pictured above, and others having incredibly bright pink.
20. Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
The coast of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic is a popular tourist destination for sugar cane palms. Here you can see the flat shorelines close to the white sand beach. The area is popular for whale watching, discovery cruises, sport fishing and swimming with dolphins.
21. Sandy Point, St. Croix, US Virgin Islands.
This secluded beach is part of a national conservation area and boasts crystal clear waters and 5 km of sandy beach, making it one of the longest beaches in the entire Caribbean. This beach tends to be very quiet and exclusive.
22. Seaquarium Beach, Curaçao
The popular tourist beach has crystal clear blue waters. The curved coastline, seen here from one of the piers, is lined with beach bars and the beach becomes a lively party scene at night. This beach is also known as Playa Mambo.
23. Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman, Kaimaninseln
At almost 8 km, this rocky stretch of beach is one of the longest uninterrupted beaches in the entire Caribbean. The crescent shaped coral sand beach is renowned for its beauty and no matter where you stay you can walk the entire length of the beach.
24. Playa Seven Mile, Negril, Jamaica
The palm trees and white sand of this wide beach lead into the warm, shallow waters off the Jamaican coast. The bathing area of this private beach is isolated with buoys. The bottom of the bathing area ends in a steep slope.
25. Shoal Bay, Anguilla
Like the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, Shoal Bay has soft white sand that shimmers in the sun. Shoal Bay stretches for approximately 2 miles and is rarely crowded, allowing you to relax in peace. Pockets of deeper water can be seen offshore.
26. Taino Beach, Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas
A quiet stretch of popular tourist beach, usually lined with palm trees and luxury hotels. This stretch of white sand beach is surrounded by rolling grass.
27. Trunk Bay, San Juan
The entrance to this beautiful beach with warm, shallow waters is a wooden walkway through the woods. This beach is beautiful, with sparkling, clear water and waves that can range from gentle swells to crashing waves. Ancient ruins are a short walk away or you can explore an underwater trail.
28. Turtle Beach, St. Croix, US Virgin Islands.
A beautiful, pristine beach off the coast of St. Croix on Buck Island. The island was declared a national monument by President Kennedy and the coral reefs, deep caves and underwater labyrinths are excellent activities for more experienced divers.
29. Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands
A view of one of Virgin Gorda's many beaches, near the large water-worn rocks known as The Baths. The huge rocks that line the beach give this white sand beach a unique look.
30. White Bay, British Virgin Islands
A long stretch of white sand beach protected by a coral reef. The crystal clear water is visible even from the shallows close to the sand. From this vantage point, the densely forested hills behind the sailboats are also visible.
