Where is the cruise port in Grenada?
The port or cruise terminal is located in the capital of Grenada, in the city of St. George's. Ships dock in the southwest part of the island at the Melville Street Cruise Terminal, close to the center of town.
From there, it's an easy walk to the Esplanade Mall and downtown. It takes about three minutes to walk to the market and about six minutes to the Carenage and port. Keep in mind that getting around the city involves some climbing.
How to get to Grand Anse beach
There are many ways to get to Grand Anse Beach from your cruise ship terminal. Transport includes car, taxi, minibus and water taxi. Entrance to the beach is free and access is not expensive either.
If you choose to take a regular taxi, expect the journey from the port to the beach along Lagoon Road to take around 15 minutes. It costs about $6 per person.
If you want to use a public bus, you can do so for US$0.75. You can take the bus from the terminal, half a block from the port. The bus journey takes about half an hour.
Lastly, you can take a water taxi to Grand Anse Beach from your cruise ship. It costs about $5 per person. Of course, the price depends on the taxi you take. It is the fastest means of transport and takes you to the beach in 5 minutes.
