Disable or enable logic apps

To prevent the trigger from firing the next time the trigger condition is met, disable your logic app. Disabling a logic app affects workflow instances in the following ways:

  • Azure Logic Apps continues with all running and pending executions until they complete. Depending on the volume or residue, this process may take some time.

  • Azure Logic Apps doesn't create or run new workflow instances.

  • The trigger will not fire the next time its conditions are met.

  • The activation state remembers the point at which the logic app stopped. So when you trigger your logic app again, the trigger fires on all raw items since the last run.

To prevent the trigger from firing on elements not rendered since the last run, clear the trigger state before reactivating your logic app:

    1. Edit any part of the workflow trigger in your logic app.
    2. Save your changes. This step resets the current state of the trigger.
    3. Reactivate your logic app.
  • When a workflow is disabled, you can still resubmit runs.

Disable logic apps

In Cloud Explorer, open the context menu for your logic app and selectdeactivate.

Edit and manage logic apps with Visual Studio - Azure Logic Apps (18)

Enable logic apps

In Cloud Explorer, open the context menu for your logic app and selectMake it possible.

Edit and manage logic apps with Visual Studio - Azure Logic Apps (19)

Delete logic apps

Deleting a logic app affects workflow instances as follows:

  • Azure Logic Apps does its best to cancel all running and pending runs.

Even with high volume or delays, most runs are canceled before they finish or start. However, the cancellation process may take some time. In the meantime, some runs can be selected to run while the runtime works on the cancel process.

  • Azure Logic Apps doesn't create or run new workflow instances.

  • If you delete a workflow and then recreate the same workflow, the newly created workflow will not have the same metadata as the deleted workflow. You must re-save all workflows that called the deleted workflow. This way the caller gets the correct information for the newly created workflow. Otherwise, calls to the newly created workflow will fail with aNot eligibleMistake. This behavior also applies to workflows that use artifacts in integration accounts and workflows that call Azure Functions.

To remove your logic app from the Azure portal, open the context menu for your logic app in Cloud Explorer and selectextinguish.

Troubleshooting

When you open your logic app project in Logic App Designer, you might not have the option to select your Azure subscription. Instead, your logic app opens with an Azure subscription that you don't want to use. This behavior occurs because after opening a logic app's JSON file, Visual Studio caches the first selected signature for future use. To resolve this issue, try one of the following steps:

  • Change the name of the logic app JSON file. Signature caching depends on the file name.

  • How to delete previously selected subscriptions forinLogic Apps in your solution, delete the hidden Visual Studio Settings (.vs) folder in your solution directory. This location stores your subscription information.
